Jekalyn Carr continues to make her mark on the biggest night in gospel music, the Stellar Gospel Music Awards. Whether hosting, presenting, or simply collecting trophies, Carr’s presence is a big part of Stellar weekend. This year, Carr added two big wins to her tally, collecting Traditional Artist of the Year and Tradition Album of the Year for JEKALYN X THE LEGENDS. Carr also added a win as a member of Atlanta’s Praise 102.5 which won Top Market of the Year.

Though one of gospel music’s most recognizable artists, Carr remains one of the youngest and always brings fashion and presence to the Stellar blue carpet and stage. This year was no different as Carr dazzled in a custom “Treasure Box” gown, also created in collaboration with Erica Moore. The sculptural gold dress featured intricate stonework and finished with colorful jewel-toned embellishments, creating a look worthy of the night’s celebration. To match the moment she was flanked by gospel music royalty, Carr teamed up with designer Erica Moore to create a resemblant Michael Jackson-inspired gold ensemble featuring a structured military-inspired jacket, dramatic sash, flared trousers, and intricate detailing covered in gold stones for her performance with Karen Clark-Sheard and Yolanda Adams.

Jekalyn Carr X The Legends is a 12-track project features collaborations with Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, Karen Clark Sheard, Kim Burrell, BeBe Winans, The Williams Brothers, Dr. Bobby Jones, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Dottie Peoples, John P. Kee, Harvey Watkins Jr., and Lisa Page Brooks. You can hear songs from this album and Carr’s breakout hits and experience her ministry at her A Night of Breakthrough tour which begins September 12th and runs through November 15th.
Congratulations to Jekalyn and Team Carr. Special thanks to Eboni Funderburk and EFG Promotions & Consulting for the press release and information contributing to this article.
