LETOYA LUCKETT JOINS KUSHAE FOR LAUNCH OF NEW, INNOVATIVE DEODORANT STICK FOR “DOWN THERE”

LETOYA LUCKETT JOINS KUSHAE FOR LAUNCH OF NEW, INNOVATIVE DEODORANT STICK FOR “DOWN THERE”

Luckett, Founders Kimba Williams and Dr. Barb, Kickoff Kushae’s Cool, Comfortable & Confident Summer With Product Launch, Thursday

Some products are so timely most may assume one currently exists in the marketplace; a deodorant stick for “down there” is quite possibly that new, innovative product. Kushae (pronounced koo-SHAY), the first OB/GYN created, plant-based feminine care system, is set to introduce a new natural deodorant stick, Thursday.

An innovation in personal hygiene, Kushae is the first to produce a roll-on for one’s most sensitive areas.  Endorsed by celebrity mom LeToya Luckett, the company’s official Brand Ambassador, Kushae is the first feminine health and hygiene company to launch a major global celebrity campaign, focused specifically on helping women become bold, unapologetic, and fearless about making their feminine health a priority. A Black-owned and women-led business, Kushae continues to dismantle the stigmas and barriers women face in speaking about their feminine health and wellness.

With the men’s personal care and hygiene market estimated to reach a $160 billion in 2022, and the feminine hygiene product market alone set to top $125 billion by 2030, Kushae’s deodorant stick is reaching consumers as the demand for products is at a record high.

Stop sweaty, musty odors “down there” in its tracks

with Kushae’s new natural deodorant stick.

“I am excited to work with Kushae. As the proud mom of two beautiful children, I understand how the different phases of life can change a woman’s body. I support Kushae’s simple, science-backed natural products and welcome the opportunity to spread positive information to educate women about the importance of their feminine health and wellness.”

LeToya Luckett

Kushae is turning the feminine health industry upside down in more ways than one. Co-Founder & CEO, Kimba Williams recently raised $1.25M through venture capital/angel investors, making her one of the first 100 Black women to do so. Launched in 2018 with exhibits and expos, the company literally worked to reach and support women one “Kushae” at a time. By 2020 they had achieved triple revenue year over year growth and debuted in Whole Foods Market. The brand has since been featured in global publications including Essence, Vogue, NBC News, and more.

Despite popular trends in the feminine care space, Kushae’s mission and values of always putting women first remain the bedrock of the brand. Led by co-founder Dr. Barbara McLaren (aka Dr. Barb), a Board-Certified OB/GYN, Kushae uses the highest quality natural, plant-based ingredients in every formula to create unique products that are highly effective and manufactured in the USA. Education-driven, the brand focuses on helping women to make informed decisions about their own health; creating avenues for open dialogue where they can feel comfortable and confident about learning about their bodies. Kushae also encourages women to develop feminine health routines and to be more proactive and intentional about their feminine wellness.

‘You don’t need an inheritance or a handout to make that happen.’ Meet the ‘Real Estate Visionista’ making home ownership a reality for readers

‘You don’t need an inheritance or a handout to make that happen.’ Meet the ‘Real Estate Visionista’ making home ownership a reality for readers

Licensed realtor and young adult mentor Shaquanna Wilson has released a new book titled From Debt to Deeds Planner, which offers readers a cost-effective, easy-to-follow tool for creating a budget, fixing credit, and understanding the process of purchasing and paying off a home.

The book also reveals surprising racial disparities among racial groups in the US, with Black people seeing the lowest rate of homeownership since 1968. One of the primary reasons Black people are denied mortgages, Wilson says, is because of poor credit or lack of income. She says this also stems from a lack of education in Black communities.

Despite the challenges Black people still face in securing mortgage loans and investing in property, Wilson says there is a clear path ahead for those who are ready to read her message and hear her story.

“You can be the change future generations need, and you don’t need an inheritance or a handout to make that happen,” Wilson says, who struggled tremendously to overcome massive debt and other social barriers to success. It all starts with having the knowledge in hand to manage your financial standing, and it starts with little steps that will push you into levels of success you never thought possible.”

Shaquanna Wilson

While many people are focused on the next president in the hopes their favored candidate will improve the economic outcome of Black people, Wilson believes people should instead start focusing on changing their own outcome right now. Real estate has provided Wilson with amazing opportunities for herself and her family, and she remains passionate about educating others who share her sense of responsibility for the future of their communities. She holds free classes for young adults on wealth building several times a year.

You Ro, Girl! Rochelle Porter and West Elm Forge Iconic Partnership

You Ro, Girl! Rochelle Porter and West Elm Forge Iconic Partnership

Rochelle Porter, founder and CEO of Rochelle Porter Design, has become one of few African American eco-friendly designers to land a spot with global decor retailer West Elm, a subsidiary of Williams-Sonoma, Inc. Porter has partnered with the company to release B+W, a black and white décor collection featuring must-have items to transform your house into a home: table runners, tea towels, and pillow covers in premium velvet, organic cotton and linen fabrics.

Each item is adorned with one-of-a-kind black and white prints hand-designed by Rochelle herself. The collection, which will also include RPD’s signature brightly-colored pillow covers, will be sold exclusively on WestElm.com and RochellePorter.com

This collection comes just in time for the holidays, and at the most opportune time for Porter and West Elm, as the company recently committed to the 15 Percent Pledge. The Pledge champions economic equality by encouraging retailers to allocate 15 percent of their shelf space to Black-owned brands.

I’m thrilled about this partnership! It’s a dream come true to have the Rochelle Porter Design decor line on westelm.com. I’ve had pop-up shops at several West Elm stores over the years, and I’m always impressed by the company’s welcoming culture and support of independent makers. I couldn’t think of a better place to debut our B+ W holiday collection.

Rochelle Porter

To drive donations for West Elm’s charity partners, the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the National Urban League, fifty percent of sales Porter’s line purchased between November 17 and December 1 were donated to support these organizations. On Giving Tuesday specifically, West Elm will double their give-back percentage to 100 percent.

Rochelle Porter Design is a lifestyle brand that brings bursts of joy to the everyday. RPD’s happy home decor textiles, accessories, and activewear feature vibrant prints derived from the founder’s original artwork and colorful Caribbean roots. Her travel-inspired patterns feature classic motifs with a quirky, modern twist. True to its tagline, “Design for abundant living,” the company believes everyone along its value chain should live well. To that end, RPD prioritizes fair pay, ethical manufacturing, and the use of sustainable materials when possible. Rochelle has recently collaborated with West Elm and The Happy Planner and has been featured in BuzzFeed, Popsugar, Elle DECOR, Essence, and a host of other media outlets.

Shop the new B + W Collection at WestElm.com and RochellePorter.com.
