…many students felt the same way…

The Raiders needed a win to bounce back from last week’s shocking loss to Carter-Riverside at Handley Field. Facing a tough challenge from Eastern Hills, the Raiders needed all four quarters and every minute of the game to overcome the Highlanders. The Raiders were equally matched in all phases of the game. In the end, the Raiders stuck to their gameplan on the ground and won a tight game with only one second remaining in this district matchup.

With this win, the Raiders moved closer to their goal of the returning to the playoffs and avenging last year’s first-round loss to Kennedale. With a winning streak to close out their 2025 regular season, the Raiders could clinch a playoff berth. However, any stumbles against Diamond Hill, Western Hills or Decatur could derail any chance of making the postseason. With their destiny in their hands, the Raiders must focus and try to overcome early season mistakes that led to losses against Bryan Adams, Springtown and Carter Riverside. Each game presented the Raiders pathways to victory, but critical mistakes in crucial moments proved costly and insurmountable. Will it all come together too late for the Raiders? We’ll know as the season progresses. For now, their sights are set on leapfrogging their in-city rivals and claiming a top two finish in the regular season.
