In a recent interview, Sias recalled the moments that led to her writing her new single, saying, “When I wrote “My Desire,” I was going through a major drought season in my life. For a long time, my craving for being known and becoming famous was always at the very front of my goals. But everything changed after a real encounter with God. My desires shifted—from my own will and what my flesh wanted, to having a heart posture that genuinely wanted to please God. I realized that when my desires align with Him, what I truly desire can actually come to pass.”
With a resume replete with personal and professional accomplishments and accolades, it’s incomprehensible to think that Sias’ career was headed anywhere but up. Still, through trials and hardships, she pushed and persevered, knowing that she was destined for greater. The greatness she was in search of wasn’t out of reach, it was out of the will of God. This revelation tuned Sias’ ear to a sensitivity that opened Heaven for her new sound. “My Desire” is the first single from Sias’ forthcoming album later this year and she hopes to inspire everyone to believe that God is a rewarder of the right pursuit.
She continued in that interview, “I want anyone who hears this song to know that God will—and can—come through for you. You just have to truly want and desire a relationship with Him. When you do, you’ll start to see things come to you, instead of you constantly chasing them. This sound is different for me. I’m coming in a new way—more open, more honest, and not holding back.
