The Southwest Raiders clashed with the Springtown Porcupines in a match that saw the Raiders take a decisive lead into halftime. The lead dissipated and Springtown found its stride with multiple single play and quick scoring drives to overcome the Raiders 49-21. The Raiders proved they can play with the best in their district, but can they win against the likes of Springtown and Decatur? The UIL realignment of 2024 has done the Raiders no favors. While matching up well against other FWISD schools, the Raiders are no match for their out of town district opponents.

Despite the losing effort, the loss toughened up the Raiders who face unrelenting opponents from their local district opponents. Up next, the Raiders hope to bounce back against Carter-Riverside next week.
