It’s Out Now! Read our Second Edition of The SMG Report

We survived snowmageddon. It was a regular winter storm but what we didn’t know is how unprepared our electricity grid was for it. Lights were out and to make matters worse, plumbing was affected and caused flooding to homes and businesses across the state of Texas. I wasn’t able to return to a full day of work until Wednesday of this week and I felt every piece of the delay. SoulProsper Radio couldn’t update shows, I couldn’t record the SMG Report which was supposed to be in video format and we were unsure if our power would remain on.

Once we were at a consistent point of power, I got to work. Because of our week, I was in no mood to record so I did what came natural. I started writing and after hours of editing, a lost edit (it completely disappeared) and a few hours of sleep, I’m pleased to present this edition of The SMG Report. Do I hope you like it? I just hope you read it! I’ve compiled many stories and included them in this edition exclusively. These stories would normally be on our website, but I’m putting them in this edition as I try out a new format and formula for what we do at SMG. Thanks for reading and as always, send your feedback to us at: news@soulprospermedia.com. I can’t wait to hear from you! —‘Fred

This month’s edition of The SMG Report features a cover story of ShaVonne Banks-Davis and features a portion of the interview exclusive with Bishop J. Drew Sheard. We would hate to keep you waiting, so dive in to this month’s edition and be sure to send your feedback to us at: news@soulprospermedia.com.

JORDAN FELIZ JOINED BY LECRAE, HULVEY FOR “GLORIFY” REMIX

JORDAN FELIZ JOINED BY LECRAE, HULVEY FOR “GLORIFY” REMIX

Rapzilla Premieres Remix, Follows TobyMac/Terrian Version As Original “Glorify” Track Becomes Billboard Hit

“Glorify” Is First Single From Upcoming Album Stemming From Feliz’s Season Of Prayer, Letting Go Of Anxiety, Stress, Messed-Up Priorities

The first single this year from Gold-selling, Dove Award-winning pop recording artist and songwriter Jordan Feliz, “Glorify,” became the No. 1 Most Added track at Christian radio following its release in June and is already a Top 20 and climbing Billboard hit song. This week, two-time Grammy-winning, multi-Platinum-selling hip hop recording artist Lecrae adds his celebrated rap flair to a remix of the song along with vocals from Reach Records’ Hulvey. The remix is available now at digital and streaming outlets everywhere from Centricity Music.

Leading Christian Hip-Hop site, Rapzilla.com, premiered “Glorify (Feat. Lecrae & Hulvey),” which follows seven-time GRAMMY winner and multi-Platinum selling artist TobyMac and new Gotee Records artist Terrian offering their Bryan Fowler-produced vocals on a separate remix of the song. This Feliz/TobyMac/Terrian-version released July 10 and is available to stream and download now from Centricity Music.

With the original album track likewise available at digital and streaming outlets everywhere, “Glorify” follows a string of No. 1 and top 10 charting, pop-centric singles like “Witness,” “Changed” and “Faith” from Feliz’s Billboard No. 1 Top Christian Album, Future. The soulful, R&B-tinged “Glorify” features a full gospel choir backing Jordan’s recognizable falsetto. In the vein of soulful acts like Earth, Wind & Fire, Al Green and Sam Cooke, Feliz pushes the song into wooden pew, altar call simplicity with a soaring praise-heavy chorus and signature propulsive beats.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever been as excited for a song as I am for this one,” Feliz says of the current single. “Glorify means ‘praise and worship,’ but the sub-context of the word actually is to acknowledge and reveal the majesty and splendor of God by one’s actions. For me, coming out of this hard season of anxiety, stress and messed up priorities, now all I want my life to do is to glorify. I want to reveal the majesty of God by my actions.”

Feliz wrote the fresh track with Jordan Mohilowski and longtime collaborators Colby Wedgeworth and Paul Duncan. Together, Wedgeworth and Mohilowski also co-produced the single. Sonically, with its healthy blend of pop, gospel and soul, “Glorify” forms a sturdy bridge between Future and Feliz’s next studio release, due in 2021. Lyrically, it offers some of Feliz’s most transparent work to date.
