In what proved to be the most lopsided outcome (win or loss) for the Raiders this season, Southwest handily defeated DHJ for their homecoming game. It looked like a scrimmage out there, most possessions, but Diamond Hill put up a worthy fight. Southwest has its flaws, but played one of its best games against the eagles who could do little to stop the ground and aerial onslaught from the Raiders.
Diamond Hill’s relentless reliance on its rushing attack kept the chains moving, though rarely enough for a first down or score. For a homecoming game, this was ideal because you always want the homecoming game to be a win. Problem is, this game wasn’t nearly as competitive as you’d expect a homecoming game to be. Many students and supporters became weary with the score, with some even remarking that they hoped to see a turnaround on the other side. That wouldn’t be happening and Southwest continued to pile on despite easing up off the gas and the game clock running for the remainder of the half.
Unsurprisingly, Raylon Carter shined again, this time as Homecoming King. He continues to raise his stock in his senior campaign! Fort Worth schools are a beacon of pride in their community, and the score is anything but indicative of the community and quality of education each student receives. Southwest was just too dominant in this game as they prepare for a playoff push despite being in a district with undefeated Decatur and one loss-Springtown.
